Position Summary

We are looking for a forward-thinking product manager to identify key business problems and develop innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations. A deep understanding and experience in the automotive industry is required, specifically in the areas of product planning, sales operations, brand management, incentive planning and marketing. Our ideal candidate will have held leadership positions in many of these areas in addition to a strong understanding of the data and tools used within these roles.

Responsibilities

As an Innovation Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing new and innovative products and successfully launching them in the marketplace within the Automotive Market Reporting and Insight business. This would include developing strategic roadmaps to implement a vision into industry leading solutions.

Key characteristics include:

Market Problems, Market Definition, Competitive Landscape: Understands current and future customer needs, as well as the competitive environment to shape and execute a compelling product strategy.
Product Requirements: Based on market expertise and input from market-facing stakeholders, guides and validates functional requirements and general user stories that solve complex and pervasive market problems with new solutions aligned with vision and strategy.
Product Strategy & Roadmap: Leads and coordinates portfolio strategies to drive growth and innovation in new product areas to exceed customer needs and desires.
Innovation: Solves industry challenges by applying leading-edge/unproven technologies and sciences to solve the most difficult market problems to create transformational solutions for the industry.
Communication: Demonstrated exceptional written communications skills, including ability to independently write or edit customer-facing or external communications. Demonstrated exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to develop and conduct presentations for clients, prospects and executive management.
Analytical: Demonstrated exceptional conceptual and analytical skills to form the basis of well-researched and documented business plans and solution strategies.
Problem Solving: Demonstrated exceptional ability to identify, analyze, evaluate alternatives and formulate responses to resolve business and customer problems.

Requirements
  • Must have at least a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in a business related or technical field, for example, Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or any other related field.
  • Must have 10+ years of experience within the automotive industry in product planning, sales, marketing, brand management, incentive planning, and/or marketing.
  • Experience with data management tools, platforms and/or market intelligence solutions within or related to the automotive industry.
  • Experience in product management with a focus on innovation is a plus.
  • Results-driven individual with exceptional analytical skills in quantitative data analysis.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, be self-motivated and inspires others to be the same, work comfortably in a fast-paced environment and within group settings, have excellent time-management skills, have an ability to think creatively and strategically, have exceptional problem-solving skills, and have an ability to stay calm under stress and uncertainty.
  • Strong team player with an ability to develop effective working relationships across the organization as well as externally.
