About our client
Our client is a well-established, leading mid-market investor with a consistently successful track record spanning 40 years across Europe.

The team is looking for an ESG Manager to take a leading role as it takes the next step in its ESG journey, with the opportunity to project manage and lead on a variety of sustainability related projects, from the development of the ESG strategy to working with the deal team to drive ESG performance across the portfolio.
What the job involves
  • Participate in the continued development of the firm's ESG strategy in collaboration with the Board and Investor Relations team
  • Liaise with counterparts across the firm to ensure that best practice with an effective team-based approach
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and keeping up to date on trends and changes within the ESG space
  • Collecting, monitoring and aggregating KPIs across the portfolio, and providing support on ESG reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Working with the deal team, providing support on ESG due diligence for new deals and implementing strategies to drive ESG performance across portfolio companies
  • Build the firm's understanding of ESG within the PE space and increase the firm's profile across the market through networking and thought leadership
  • Oversee and project manage existing relationships with external consultancies
Who we are looking for
  • Experience in sustainability/ESG gained in either the ESG consulting sector, in an in-house ESG position within the private markets or at a corporate, operating in a range of industry sectors
  • Sufficient experience and stature to be credible, working independently with portfolio management teams; influence the investment team; build a strong external network, and (in due course) presenting to LPs
  • The ability to translate from policies, regulation, and best practice (which can be quite general and intangible) into specific tangible actions to drive and measure improvement will be important
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyse and use data to highlight trends and communicate data in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to undertake independent research on emerging topics, industry guidance and regulatory developments, and concisely summarise key points and how they may impact the firm, fund or portfolio
  • Highly organised, with experience of effectively managing multiple work streams spanning multiple stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Highly motivated and passionate about sustainability
