Ameriprise Financial has an excellent opportunity for an Accountant! This person would be responsible for day to day accounting, reconciliation of life insurance, and investment portfolios. Process transactions and perform monthly and quarterly reporting. Preparation of custodial and account reconciliations. Coordinate preparation of collateralized loan obligations (CLO) trial balance for several deals on quarter basis. Assist with monthly and quarterly templates submitted for internal and external reporting.

Responsibilities
- Perform investment accounting for a variety of transactions in the PAM accounting system daily
- Review, analyze and resolve accounting exceptions
- Prepare monthly account and custodial reconciliations
- Produce quarterly Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) trial balances by consolidating trustee and investment system transactions.
- Research and respond to business partners inquiries
- Formulate monthly and quarterly reports for GAAP, statutory and regulatory reporting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with 0-5 years of accounting experience
- Associates Degree or equivalent with 2-5 years of accounting experience; understanding of financial instruments
- Understanding in use of Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of investments and GAAP & statutory accounting treatment
- Proven understanding of the process flows, systems, controls and impacts across products and business lines they support
- Good understanding of systems, controls, and processes
- Experience with Workday general ledger accounting system
