About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking talented candidates for a leadership position as the Finance Accounting Asia North Leader within the APAC Finance organization. The APAC Finance team is responsible for supporting the business on the regional strategy by identifying, sizing, and executing on growth opportunities and efficiencies at the top of senior management's agendas, maintaining effective internal controls on the preparation of regulatory, tax, legal entity and management reporting financials, delivering on regional infrastructure and platform initiatives, and monitoring and managing the capital, liquidity, tax and regulatory reporting requirements across the Asia Pacific region.

This role will have the opportunity to lead change and work on many strategic initiatives across the Corporate & Investment Banking and Commercial businesses in region and lead large teams to support the book of work whilst ensuring compliance and consistent delivery of financial reporting.

Projects include developing the international growth strategies (regional and country), assessing new products, licenses, and market entry, performing strategic business deep dives into the feasibility of strategic investments, improving operational efficiency and effectiveness, and setting and contributing to the tech/data strategy.

The leader will be working closely with the International Finance and Controllers team and Strategy, Planning function within regional COO/Management as well LOB/ Support/Functions leaders to maintain effective internal controls, provide financial assessments and forecasts, and assist with business cases to meet the requirements for CIB, International and the overall Company.

Responsibilities
  • Reports to the APAC Chief Financial Officer.
  • The leader will be responsible for supporting the regional business leaders, branch/country managers, and heads of the shared service functions in region on the regional and country strategies, business initiatives, operational efficiencies and growth opportunities.
  • Ensures the consistent delivery of internal controls and financial reporting with responsibility on both legal entity and management financials.
  • The Finance teams dedicated to the branches in China, Hong Kong, Korea, and Taiwan will report to the Finance Accounting Asia North Leader.
  • Provides leadership on strategy, business initiatives, remediation, and infrastructure projects such as the deployment of systems and integration of accounting and reporting requirements to comply with US and local standards.
  • Supports decision making, provides financial projections based on trends, and leads and executes the development of the regional and country strategies in partnership with regional management and US/international leaders.
  • Ensures consistency in delivery of internal controls and compliance with increasing and rapidly changing US, SEC, and local regulatory and tax reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates and executes strategic planning and analyses for the Corporate and Investment Banking and Commercial businesses in region.
  • Identifies key drivers in the formulation of strategic/operating plans and initiatives.
  • Monitors regional and local performance and provides timely analyses to the business and regional management -including risks and opportunities from the internal and external environments.
  • Leads business planning and produces sensitivity analysis in support of the regional and local strategic and financial plans.
  • Drives and coordinates business reviews in region in line with the Company's expectations by tracking performance and initiatives to strategic plans and budgets.
Requirements
  • Degree holder and above with 10+ years' relevant experience in a leadership capacity and exposure to corporate, investment banking and commercial banking experience in region would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrates expert industry knowledge and leverages regulatory and business experience and technical expertise to challenge the norm.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to interact with team members at all levels and achieve goals without direct control over resources in some cases.
  • Prioritizes issues management, analyses, and team capacity.
  • Excellent and efficient skills using MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio tools; SQL, VBA, Tableau, Alteryx, Essbase (are a plus).
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational and presentation skills.
