The Analyst is responsible for daily management of the portfolio and security selection within various sectors.  She/he would research new ideas and conduct maintenance research on current holdings via financial analysis, management meetings and industry level due diligence.  Ideally, the analyst would have a Small Cap Growth background with multi-sector experience.

Profile Description:

  • Develop and communicate investment recommendations based on comprehensive industry and company research through various sources of information, including review of public documents, annual reports, trade journals, networking with industry contacts as well as interviews with senior management
  • Conduct industry research to assess trends and identify potential changes in secular growth rates as well as build, update and maintain financial and valuation models
  • Communicate, explain, and defend buy and sell ideas to the Fundamental Equity portfolio managers
  • The analyst’s contribution will be determined by how much alpha his/her ideas have generated, and as a result, how much influence they’ve had on the overall portfolio

Knowledge & Experience:

  • BA/BS in finance, economics or similar required; MBA and/or CFA desired
  • At least 5 years of fundamental equity research experience is required, preferably buy-side experience
  • Knowledge of the Small and SMID space desired
  • A demonstrable track record of success in stock selection
  • Comfortable with using a quantitative screening tool to help target research
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate in a timely and investment-relevant manner
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial statements and models
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
