Position Overview

The Berlin based Corporate Banking (CB) team of Group Audit (GA) undertakes professional audit work in accordance with the GA's methodology to provide 'front-to-back' audit coverage of Deutsche Bank's Corporate Banking and Investment Banking businesses. As such, it works in a cooperative manner with GA's CB, IB and UKI teams in London as well as with subject matter expert teams across the function. The team members onsite work independently and flexible in the way they approach their work.

Your key responsibilities
  • Independently evaluate of the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks within Corporate Banking / Investment Banking
  • Under moderate supervision (e.g. in complex situations), undertake audit assignments, participate in drafting audit issues for review by senior auditors, assist in issue tracking and closure of issues
  • Continuously assess risk profile of dedicated business areas in accordance with relevant audit guidelines based on key indicators and other management information
  • Pro-actively develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, the business and respective support areas and work in an integrated manner with fellow team members both locally and globally
  • Develop and maintain broad regulatory knowledge & experience. Stay abreast of business/industry changes and their effect on the department's audit plan, methodology and risk assessments
  • Occasionally participate in ad-hoc projects
Your skills & experience
  • Master's degree in Business Administration related discipline or other relevant qualification
  • Advanced understanding of the banking risk and control environment, and the regulatory environment specific to Corporate Bank business lines
  • Advanced experience in the delivery of audit related assignments (ideally in complex financial services environments) and Commercial Banking or Investment Banking role (or respective Auditor role) as well as data management and/or analysis/review of processes
  • A willingness to accept responsibility, a high level of personal integrity and an eye for detail without losing the big picture
  • Strong English communication skills both oral and written, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within Group Audit and with stakeholders
