The job holder acts as Schroders' liaison representative in mainland China Intermediary businesses.

What you'll do

Liaison & Corporate Marketing

• To initiate contacts with intermediary business clients, including local banks, distributors and insurance.
• To ensure client coverage by making cold calls, attending client meetings and visiting local bank branches.
• To establish strong working relationships by understanding fully each client's requirements and building up rapport with clients.
• To facilitate understanding of the full range of Schroders investment capabilities to existing eligible China-based and prospective clients.
• To ascertain gaps and devise appropriate positioning approaches to influence clients to review products.
• To understand client's decision-making process.
• To continuously monitor business effectiveness and recommend action plans where necessary.
• To understand and keep up-to-date with the client's organisational structure/business model and selection process.
• To responsible for preparing business proposals and client meeting presentation materials by liaising and coordinating with internal parties/departments, such as RFP team, Fund/Product Managers and other related support teams.
• To attend industry events to ensure Schroders' presence in the industry.
• To work closely with Marketing Team for corporate marketing events to strengthen and promote our company profile.
• To facilitate business activities, including marketing trips by investment teams, fund roadshows, client seminars and investor education events.
• To deliver presentations of an educational nature to the public at client seminars, industry forums and conferences as a representative of Schroders
• To facilitate discussion and negotiation of contracts that are signed by representatives of other Schroders entities located outside of China.

Product Analysis

• To understand and keep up-to-date with clients' needs and the China financial market landscape as well as Schroders' products range.
• Research market demand as well as competitors' products in order to identify an appropriate product strategy for the China market.
• To keep abreast of industry/regulatory developments and competitors' products.
• To identify Schroders' competitive advantage against competitors.
• To generate product ideas and investment themes for discussion with clients.

Relationship Management

• To initiate new client relationships.
• To establish strong working relationships by understanding fully each client's requirements and building up rapport with clients.
• To provide professional and excellent service to clients (where appropriate).
• To communicate with potential clients on a regular basis to identify and advocate investment and product ideas.
• To respond in a timely and comprehensive manner to requests from clients.
• To identify ways to anticipate and better fulfil client's requirements by soliciting feedback from clients.
• To maintain regular context with major consultants and distributors.
• To manage internal relationships across distance and time zones (e.g. Investment Product teams globally).

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
• 6-8 years asset management / wealth management related experience.
• Direct experience of working in Investment Management firms is most welcomed.
• Exposure to asset management business in commercial banks, and product management in mutual / private funds are plus.
• University graduate: Bachelor's Degree or above
• Asset Management Association of China (AMAC) license
• Excellent English and Chinese written and verbal communication skill
• Strong analytical skills and investment knowledge
