The Fund Accounting Manager/Assistant Fund Accounting Controller is responsible overseeing all
aspects of fund level accounting and reporting activities for assigned Lionstone investment funds and
overseeing the accounting staff responsible for those funds.


• Oversight and maintenance of fund level general ledger, accounts payable, cash management and
• Assist in the review and approval of the accounting methods applied to the property budgets and
capital schedules.
• Ensure accounting is in accordance with US GAAP and other applicable frameworks.
• Coaching and development of fund accounting staff.
• Lead the communications with other departments regarding accounting, reporting, cash management
and fund level capital activity.
• Oversight of the review of monthly property activity and financial statements (monthly property
• Review of property and fund level bank reconciliations.
• Review day-to-day fund level accounting activity.
• Review quarterly and year-end consolidated financial statements.
• Preparation of significant and complex accounting transactions.
• Oversee the preparation of quarterly investor reports including coordinating with asset and property management teams, and portfolio managers.

Required Qualifications

• Coordination and oversight of external audits (primary auditor interface and reference).
• Review audit schedules and audit report draft.
• Preparation of tax schedules for external tax teams.
• Primary point of contact for property management personnel related to accounting and reporting
policies and procedures.
• Maintain Fund level internal controls.
• Identify and implement enhancements to accounting and reporting processes and internal control
• Perform internal audits/reviews of property management teams. System guidance to property
management personnel related to accounting and reporting.
• Protect organization's value by maintaining confidentiality of information.
• Perform ad-hoc special projects and assist with ad hoc requests, as needed.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proficient knowledge of PC applications.
• Microsoft Suite proficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, internal and external professional communications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Real Estate industry experience, including REITs and/or Partnership accounting.
• CPA and/or CFA designation, or other equivalent certifications.
• Public accounting experience.
• Experience with partnership structures and waterfall calculations.
• Experience with MRI.
