We now need a Business Analyst to support the transformation and the future growth of the business, simplifying our IT architecture by removing legacy systems and delivering new solutions that provide market-leading services for our colleagues, customers and advisers.

Job Summary
The Business Analyst:

• supports the facilitation of business change through the articulation of business needs reflected in the Business Case.
• using a range of elicitation, analysis techniques the Business Analyst will facilitate the alignment of stakeholder perspectives to achieve the stated change objectives & key results, and articulate the future state operating model.
• may be deployed in an Agile or Waterfall software development context.

Working in change delivery the Business Analyst will provide estimation and progress reporting for their own work, record RAID items and provide auditable trace from business need to benefit realisation. The Business Analyst will manage their analysis & project stakeholders working at all levels across the organisation.

What you'll do
Canada Life is undertaking a significant refresh of its IT estate. One component of this concerns a migration of the physical infrastructure and business applications to the Cloud using Azure.

We are looking for a Business Analyst to support the development of a migration path and transition into IT Service Management. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of cloud environments, application migration and IT service management, and be able to elicit, articulate, construct clear and concise requirements to a high standard.

• Conduct demand evaluation.
• Identify and articulate risks.
• Plan your work and provide transparency regarding progress.
• Identify improvement opportunities for potential sponsorship.
• Elicit, analyse and synthesize stakeholder perspectives.
• Ensures solutions satisfy legal, regulatory, compliance, contractual and policy obligations.
• Produce definition of IT and business change with review and sign off from key stakeholders.
• Provide impact assessment of change requests.
• Produce and maintain a trace from business need to benefit realisation.
• Conduct Post Implementation Review / retrospectives

You should be comfortable working within business, application, infrastructure delivery contexts, and experienced in articulating and implementing operating models.
It is also desirable to have experience within in one or more of the following areas:

• Cloud computing on a corporate scale; specifically MS Azure
• Experience of Data Centre migrations
• Organisation and Business Readiness

Qualifications
Essential
• Successful applicants should be able to demonstrate competency and experience equivalent to holders of the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis.

Desirable
We welcome candidates with certification in any of the following:
• BCS Advanced International Diploma in Business Analysis
• BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis
• IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
