OVERVIEW
The Global Currencies and Emerging Market (GCEM) Trading & Sales desk assists Goldman Sachs' clients in managing their exposure to currency risk (FX) by offering a range of financial instruments. This is a critical function for our clients and the firm, and the products offered range from vanilla spot trades to exotic structured derivatives on major and emerging market currencies. In addition, the GCEM desk also encompasses Emerging Markets desk that actively trades conventional fixed income instruments like bonds and interest rate swaps. Foreign Exchange is an incredibly dynamic business and is a significant source of revenue for the Global Markets division, and for the firm in general.

YOUR IMPACT
As part of the client and production support team, you will be working in a fast paced environment to provide technical support for a number of trading applications and systems that facilitate the business in FX and Fixed Income. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are passionate about learning and working with the business to resolve day to day technical issues. You will make an impact by resolving issues efficiently, managing incidents, identifying recurring issues and coming up with recommendations on where to make investments to bring down support costs. In addition, you will help train new users and developers by creating clear and concise documentation for applications and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Your responsibilities include:
  • Interacting with users to resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Working with many different teams from front to back across both the business and technical organizations
  • Debugging issues and working with developers to determine root cause
  • Incident management
  • Creating user documentation and run books for applications and processes
  • Managing support tickets to track recurring issues and support cost
  • Executing BCPs (Business Continuity Planning) to ensure that backup plans are up to date
Basic Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of support and incident management experience
  • Ability to read, debug code and make code changes (Java/C++/Python/C#)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to quickly understand new systems and technologies
  • Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a team
  • Experience in software release process and change management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in supporting trading desks at large investment banks
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with an object oriented programming language
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income products (Foreign Exchange and Interest Rates)
