BNY Mellon has established a hybrid working model for all employees in Frankfurt. The offered role is a split between collaboration time in the office and Homeoffice.

Regular Duties

The Senior Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of asset and portfolio valuations and adherence to pricing policy. He / She also serves as the first point of contact for internal and external audit pricing requests. This includes daily communication with pricing vendors on pricing challenges and querying their universe. The Senior Specialist ensures that clients as well as Depotbank teams receive a pricing data in a timely manner to enable corresponding NAV calculations.

The position requires good knowledge of financial instruments, accounting conventions and techniques, good understanding of accounting systems, workflows, procedures and controls and quality standards as well as a solid understanding of the client/ KVG legal and market requirements.

The Senior Specialist closely interacts with the Team Manager and keeps him/ her advised of processing and accounting issues if required, problem resolution status and internal service delivery status as well as recurring issues that require management follow up.

In the absence of the Team Manager, the Senior Specialist may be designated to assume his/ her technical responsibilities. Close interaction and Teamwork is required to ensure knowledge transfer of functional operations responsibilities and client specific requirements prior to absences.

Responsibilities:

The below list is not finite and may be added to. The combination of tasks required to be executed will vary depending on both client structure, client requirements and business needs.
  • Daily processing of internal pricing process including quality checks to ensure complete and correct pricing of all assets and providing respective reports to clients and internal teams / internal fund accounting system
  • Daily price validation of clients Valuation data and uploading data to internal fund accounting system
  • Daily processing of market conformity checks of new trades including respective clarification / escalation and follow up internally and with clients
  • Regular communication with pricing vendors on pricing challenges as well as coordination of setup of new products
  • Self-dependent processing of all regular tasks as well as assigned special tasks and assisting other team member in their daily work
  • Regular Interaction with other BNY Departments on regular tasks and issues
  • Creation, documentation and optimization of workflows, processes and quality assurance standards in collaboration with the Team Manager in accordance with BNYM procedures and controls, legal and client/KVG requirements


Qualification:
  • Bank or business education with specialization and experience
  • Significant work experience (> 5 years), ideally in Fund Accounting, Market Data or Pricing environment
  • Significant experience in a Financial Services or Accounting or investment administration environment
  • Significant knowledge of instrument characteristics and especially the pricing of Equities, Bonds, Derivatives, OTCs, FX and other exotic products
  • Significant understanding / experience with Options, Swaps, Structured Products and Loans is a plus
  • Self-Driven and responsible person to fully complete assigned tasks
  • Good communicator and Team playing spirit is a must
  • Act as role model for other team members and execute best practice
  • Eager to attain the knowledge of relevant products and business processes
  • Open minded approach to understand Fund Accounting related processes to be able to understand how your job will impact clients and other departments of the company
  • Good written / verbal English and German skills due to Internationality of this role
