The Wealth Management Business Development & Field Training organization supports the Firm's Financial Advisors by managing the field sales support of non-banking products and the business development functions for our branch network.
Consulting Group / Mutual Fund Sales Specialists are a key component of the proactive & commercial sales organization with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. This role is based in the New York metro area. Specialists partner closely with field salespeople to provide proactive, hands-on sales support for financial advisors in understanding, adopting, and implementing advisory solutions in their wealth management practices. Additionally, the team tactically positions traditional investment products (mutual funds, 529 plans, closed end funds, etc.). The role allows for continued professional development & networking throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Gain expertise in Consulting Group platforms & understanding of traditional investment products
- Obtain an in-depth understanding of the various modern wealth platforms and systems; educate financial advisors & support staff on various platform options & tools
- Conduct outbound call campaigns to drive focus initiatives
- Establish, maintain and support strong relationships with financial advisors
- Partner with field sales & local management to effectively cover assigned territory and drive business results (transition assets to advisory, drive sales related to tactical campaigns)
- Provide prompt, accurate responses to inquiries
- Complete financial advisor book reviews to identify, highlight, and execute on specific business opportunities
- Leverage expertise to deliver client proposals and marketing packets; inclusive of hypothetical portfolio illustrations & manager recommendations.
- Utilize Salesforce effectively and efficiently
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Two years+ related financial services sales experience preferred
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 (or equivalent) required upon hire or within 120 days of hire date
- Salesforce (or alternative CRM) experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
