Deutsche Bank Research is responsible for economic analysis within the Deutsche Bank Group and covers asset allocation, fixed income markets, and all major industry sectors. Our research analysts analyze relevant market trends, highlights risks and opportunities, and act as consultants for the bank, its clients, and stakeholders. Our mission is to deliver high-quality independent analysis that helps investors understand markets and promotes public debate.

This position is for a role within the Global Emerging Markets Research Team, with a dedicated focus on Asian currency and interest rate markets.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Conduct timely, insightful analysis on markets in Asia with a particular focus on ASEAN countries
  • Analyze economic developments from macro data releases, capital flows, and central bank and government policies to generate investment and hedging recommendations for Deutsche Bank's clients, with a particular focus on currency and interest rate markets
  • Write for regional and global publications on investment opportunities, trading recommendations and market themes in Asia
  • Initially support senior researchers in the team, but with potential for dedicated primary coverage of individual markets down the line, and growing interaction with clients and internal stakeholders

Your skills and experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a background in Economics, Finance, or Computer Science. .
  • A keen interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, and current affairs
  • Background in econometrics is required, and comfort with programming languages (Python, R) and big data skills are strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work well in a team, support senior researchers, but also take initiative, express intellectual curiosity, propose new ideas, deliver on independent projects, and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • This is an analyst role, open to university graduates either without work experience, or with 1-2 years of experience in a related field
  • Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirement applies.
