Head of Investment Strategy and Communications
We are a dynamic, rapidly growing independent wealth management firm in San Francisco that offers
comprehensive wealth management services to individuals and families. We believe passionately in the value of
deep financial and life planning being integrated with investment management services to provide the best
outcome for clients. We specialize in working with successful individuals and families in their peak career years,
many of which are also in their peak parenting years, addressing the myriad of decisions facing this demographic.
We are seeking to add a Head of Investment Strategy and Communications to our team, someone who is
interested in building a long‐term career and becoming a partner and shareholder of the firm. All of our clients are
clients of the firm and each have a team comprised of Wealth Managers, Associate Wealth Mangers, Client
Service Associate and Investment Management professionals. We need an outstanding person and a solid team
player. A problem solver with a keen attention to detail and deep knowledge in investment management.
Candidates will have a proven track record of strategic decision making and excellent written and verbal
communication skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
Investment Strategy
- Responsible for all aspects of the investment management offering, including investment strategy, strategic allocation, portfolio construction, manager selection and execution/implementation across entire client base
- Responsible for model portfolio construction and on‐going management, including considerations such asset class section, weighting, geographic tilts, factor tilts and modeling based on client demographics and goals
- Head of the Investment Committee
- Select fund managers and manage relationships with them
- Run and review performance and attribution analysis
Investment Communications
- Prepare client focused quarterly markets review
- Create quarterly investment talking points and supporting presentation materials for advisors to use in client meetings
- Write client‐focused timely investment communications
- Interact with clients and advisors on investment related topics via webinars, video and in‐person events
- Continuous review and refresh of investment solution, positioning, messaging, and firm presentations
Advisor Education & Support
- Support advisors with research, analysis and presentation materials to address client questions and areas of interest
- Support business development activities by analyzing a prospect’s current investments, articulating the value of WWP’s investment solution and demonstrating WWP’s depth and competence in investment management
- Develop investment focused training curriculum for new advisors
- Provide on‐going investment education to the entire team
- Serve as the “go to person” for advisors who have investment related questions
Skills & Qualifications Required
- 7+ years investment management experience including experience with end clients
- College degree and CFA required
- Demonstrated history of making strategic investment related decisions and confidence in presenting a point of view
- Direct management experience preferred
- Proven ability to communicate complex investment topics to clients with limited investment knowledge, both verbally and written
- Driven, career‐oriented, wants to be a leader in an entrepreneurial organization
- Personable, responsive, engaging, and a client first attitude
- Mature, self‐starter, willing to take complete ownership of areas of responsibility
- Strong analytical skills and computer skills including advanced proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
