Cash Products is part of Banking and Cash Solutions under Advice and Wealth Management. The team is responsible for the product and financial management for over $30 billion in cash products, including brokerage cash sweep products, Ameriprise Certificates, money market funds and bank deposit products.

Pricing and Analytics Team:

The Pricing and Analytics team is part of Cash Products. The team utilizes a deep understanding of advisor and client needs and collaborates with product leadership to support the pricing process and business decision-making. The pricing team is responsible for driving revenue, margin, and sales through the delivery of optimized pricing guidance.

Role Overview:

You will support Ameriprise Cash Products through leading product pricing, ongoing rate-setting, data modeling and product analysis, and ad hoc reporting.

Responsibilities

You will:

• Lead the development and refinement of product pricing, profitability and financial models for Cash Products using analytical and business expertise
• Lead and ensure accuracy for weekly rate-setting processes including collecting, evaluating, and analyzing pricing related internal and external data, develop pricing models based upon current business, economic and market dynamics
• Apply the results of financial models to business decisions such as pricing strategies, investment strategies, and product design.
• Create executive communications that synthesize data to form a story to contrast or compare to industry or historical business trends using data summaries and graphics to illustrate key findings.
• Build relationships with Finance, Investments, Treasury, and Risk Management in order to create and review model output that impacts business decisions
• Coordinate the preparation of sweep daily balance reports, monthly revenue validation, and other ad-hoc data and analysis requests as needed to support management decision-making
• Monitor competitor pricing strategies to ensure pricing is competitive and maintains grown and profitability goals
• Audit existing pricing processes to ensure all risk and control processes are being met
• Maintain a strong control environment through executive or oversight of financial controls
• Build and continually improve product reporting including routine and ad-hoc reports.
• Optimize product key performance indicator summary reports using Excel or other tools
• Develop data reporting structures and formats to interrogate available account and financial data
• Occasionally participate in product implementation efforts and on project teams as product subject matter expert, including test planning and execution
• Develop expertise with respect to data sources as well as product features and benefits, e.g. interest crediting, surrender penalties, advisor compensation, etc. in support of run the business and project activities
• Review product materials such as prospectuses, marketing materials, webpages, etc. for accuracy and completeness
• Mentor or lead junior team member

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in math, statistics, economics, finance or related fields
• 7+ years' work experience in a similar position, with expertise in pricing, reporting and business analysis for investment or bank deposit products
• Analytical, quantitative & problem-solving skills, especially strong financial product modeling skills
• Advanced Excel skills required - ability to build solutions and models that simplify complex data and produce accurate results
• PowerPoint skills to create professional presentations and graphics to communicate data and insights using analytics and reporting best practices
• Understanding of financial and accounting data and terminology to use and interpret product profitability drivers and key financial metrics
• Ability to adapt complexity of analysis to fit required timelines
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems independently
• Strong prioritization skills and ability to set goals to keep initiatives moving
• Knowledge of the investment and/or banking industry
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with team members and business partners
• Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively summarize and communicate results from data requests and analyses to product leaders and senior leaders
• Proficient with other MS Office applications, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

• Additional data software or programming languages experience or ability to learn
