OUR IMPACT
Equity Technology Group plays a key role in the firm to offer institutional clients the ability to investment in China financial market in most efficient way with variety of products supported: A shares, Southbound, and Synthetic product like equity swap etc, which is a very important revenue driver for the firm. In Equity Technology we build different flows to meet client diversity requirements which covers Single Shares flow, Basket trading flow, Algorithm and trading GUI provision and electronic flow. We use both open source industry standard and internal proprietary technologies to build a low latency, scalable cutting edge platforms.
The Equity Technology team is a dynamic front office team, we partner directly with the trading desk and different engineering teams globally. We are focused on building and enhancing the applications and workflows that support the China Equity business. We have a deep pipeline of business driven project requests aimed at timely catching up with market new initiatives and increasing our competitive advantage with our clients
YOUR IMPACT
This role is an Analyst/Associates developer position based in Shanghai office, the candidate will be responsible for develop and maintain onshore equity and integration components with GS trading platform including new exchange connectivity. The person will be responsible for designing, writing, reviewing, testing and implementing a variety of scalable applications in trading flow by leveraging the latest firm wide technologies and vendor solutions . The person will also need to support new business initiatives with interaction of client, regional technology teams, third party vendor and clients for requirement and development. In additional the person will work closely with equity team in regional initiatives. We expect the person to implement and suggest best development practices/methodologies to deliver high quality software throughout the development stack.

• You will be relied upon to be proactive in your approach, managing both daily tasks and a project role

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of experience in building applications in a commercial environment
• A solid understanding of object orientated desk and programming skills (Java, Python, C++, or other OO technology)
• A good understanding of the principles behind test-driven development (TDD) with hands-on experience of unit testing
• Proficient with databases systems; able to write and analyze complex queries with multi-table joins and aggregate functions
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic and exciting trading environment
• Ability to interact with users, understand issues and dependencies amongst the different related system flows
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to react calmly but quickly in emergency situations
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies
• Good teamwork and communication skills are crucial to success in this role because all projects will involve working closely with regional Tech teams as well as the business
• Interest or experience in financial services and trading businesses is expected
• Proficient in reading, writing and speaking Mandarin and English

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior work experience in the financial industry preferred
• Knowledge of China financial market, OMS concept and order routing system, and FIX Connectivity will be preferred
• Experience in managing vendor systems will be preferred
