We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Markets Manager Compliance Advisory - Compliance

Principal Responsibilities
  • Part of a Global and Regional Markets Compliance team that provides direction and support to cross asset activities across Global Businesses, Global Functions, and APAC jurisdictions as the second line of defence
  • Seek assurance that the business is operating in line with relevant laws, regulations, codes and HSBC Group Standards within Compliance
  • Undertake key regulatory programme activities as part of the Compliance function and be responsible for leading the effort regionally, while supporting and working with the Global program in London
  • Lead thought to provide policy advice related to Global Markets products, services and clients, and ensure that the Compliance function is suitably resourced to address the risks associated with Global Markets business in ASP
  • Work with the Regulatory Affairs team and support new regulatory developments, rule interpretation, mapping and other MSS/GM regulatory initiatives and projects
  • Work closely with the Markets Conduct Programme, the Asset Class SMEs within Markets RC and regional and country stakeholders to deploy the risk assessment and follow on implementation activities for the regional hub
  • Perform impact analysis of regulatory initiatives, actions, driving coordination, execution and assurance of Risk Assessment work streams and, ensuring alignment with Global Standards
  • Lead thought to provide policy advice related to Global Markets products, services and clients, and ensure that the Compliance function is resourced adequately to address the risks associated with Global Markets business
  • Take the lead in providing compliance advisory support for Operations and Trade Reporting Teams. Drive the compliance framework to integrate with the bank's operational-risk vision
  • Assume Risk Stewardships to provide independent challenge and oversight to the Business

Requirements
  • Self-motivated and ability to think and work independently yet collaborate as a team player with globally dispersed teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess a very good understanding of the financial services industry, regulatory landscape and compliance, and experience or knowledge of working with international regulators would be beneficial but not essential
  • Able to articulate a clear vision of work streams and programme then implement its execution that is aligned to the overall Operational Risk Management Framework and Risk Assessment, Policies and Procedures
  • Actively participate in team meetings. Bringing solutions or recommendations to the table
  • Ability to work in a methodical and organised manner
  • Robust and timely record keeping, evidencing and delivery
  • Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning
  • Excellent time management and prioritization of work tasks
  • Strong drafting and report writing skills
  • Ability to read and write Chinese will be an added asset
