About Engineering & Product Design
  • Engineers and other technical professionals are tasked with developing breakthrough solutions, finding new markets, and improving products and processes.
  • To solve tough problems, they need easy access to trusted, relevant information, codes, standards and insights developed by the world's leading technical organizations.
  • IHS Markit Engineering & Product Design provides the tools that surface answers from a universe of technical information published by our partners, the National Standards Bodies and Standards Developing Organizations (NSBs / SDOs).
  • Our tools enable technical knowledge workers to accelerate efficiencies, design safe, compliant products and make better decisions, faster.
  • In turn, we play an indispensable role supporting the wider goals of our NSB / SDO partners. Our world-class distribution channel and tools ensures NSB/SDO content reaches the right users and sustains a royalty flow providing critical funds to sustain their important work in the communities they serve globally.


The Role

We are searching for a proactive and passionate leader with exceptional account management skills to join our Engineering & Product Design business with responsibility to develop preferred relationships with strategic content partners

The successful candidate will diversify and deepen our existing partnership engagements, helping to differentiate IHS Markit as a premier partner. Working directly with senior executives and leaders across the business, this individual will define and grow long-lasting, mutually beneficial opportunities, striking terms of business which optimally balance the goals of our partners with IHS Markit's business strategy and performance objectives creating mutual value for both.

To succeed in this position, candidates should have exceptional communication and analytical skills.

The role requires resourcefulness, adaptability, and a high degree of organization, with the ability to build rapport with our partners at the most senior levels.

Responsibilities
  • Interacting with partners to understand their goals and explain the value delivered by IHS Markit
  • Building relationships based on trust, honesty, transparency and mutual advantage
  • Developing a deep understanding of partner's strategic goals, and of the ecosystem of partner organizations that form our supplier base
  • Negotiating with partners and advocating for the IHS Markit perspective, developing detailed contract terms which protect and grow the IHS Markit franchise
  • Collaborating with internal departments to fulfil partner needs, building relationships and creating leverage
  • Develop deep familiarity with performance and usage metrics. Create new value-driving insights for our partners
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of IHS Markit products and services in order to demonstrate value of our franchise to partners
  • Identifying industry and competitive trends, and developing new relationships aligned to IHS Markit's strategic direction


Requirements
  • 7+ years' experience in strategic partnership management, account management, channel sales management, product management, business development or equivalent role
  • Excellent active listening and interpersonal skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop relationships, ingest and present complex information, handle detail, influence decisions and drive outcomes with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills
  • High levels of organizational ability
  • Ability to build rapport and collaborate with colleagues and across the partner organizations
  • Ability to travel - including overnight domestic or international trips to visit partner organizations
