Senior Portfolio Manager

Moran Wealth Management is an Investment Advisory practice with over 4.5 billion in AUM (as of 02/28/2022), and we are interested in adding other experienced managers with portfolios to help us keep growing. The Portfolio Manager is primarily responsible for the selection of individual securities within our practice’s actively managed strategies. One must possess the ability to work in a team environment to pursue maximum risk/reward for our clients. In addition, the Portfolio Manager is entrusted with sharing market outlooks and investment philosophy with advisors, clients, and employees to create a shared vision. We are looking for someone who is hard working and dedicated with an emphasis on execution, leadership, communication, order allocation, compliance, assessing the market and investment strategy.


Job Responsibilities

Conducts fundamental and quantitative analysis, and due diligence of all positions in conjunction with the investment team.

Responsible for ensuring that portfolios comply with their investment guidelines to help meet client goals and objectives, and quickly escalate and resolve potential issues.

Perform trading activities at strategy levels as well as account levels for account transitions and cash flow management.

Maintain strategies and process trades within an OMS (Order Management System).

Determine trading strategy to minimize market impact on large block orders of various types of equities: common stocks, ADRs (American Depository Receipts), OTC (Over the Counter), ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds), etc.

Collaborate with the Trade Desk for processing of large volume trades and illiquid securities.

Perform in-depth credit analysis of investment grade corporate and municipal bonds and be able to construct and maintain fixed income strategy portfolios.

Develop or supports relationships and strategic alliances with external contacts and internal cross-functional areas.

Meet with clients periodically to describe the investment process employed (once significant client capital has been allocated).

Fosters strong relationships with advisors and colleagues, and maintains open communication with senior management, risk management and fellow portfolio managers.

Collaborates cross-departmentally with investment research team to identify investment strategies.

Provides periodic public speaking internally and externally.

Assist with RFP (Request for Proposal) responses and participate in final presentations.

Prepare high-quality quarterly market and economic outlooks and reports to be discussed with key business partners.

Suggests, reviews and informs new tools and frameworks to improve portfolio management and investment process.

Review total return assessment, benchmark comparison, and benchmark creation; be a thought leader on balancing total return and investment income results.

Work on projects that support our growth and the 5 year strategy.



MBA graduate and 5 or more years’ portfolio management experience and investment decision-making.

CFA (preferred) or significant progress towards.

Expert understanding of investment strategies, market concepts and risk management.

Proficient in various financial management software, such as NetX360, APX, Bloomberg and Orion. Familiarity of VBA or Python being a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong consultative approach to client service and highly advanced customer relationship management skills.

High interest in and enthusiastic about economic and financial market trends.
