About this role

What team will you be on?

The BlackRock Investment Institute (BII) brings together the firm's expertise to generate proprietary research and provide insights on the global economy, markets, geopolitics and long-term asset allocation - all to help our clients and portfolio managers navigate financial markets.

Why is your role important?

The vice president will play a key role in driving BlackRock's thought leadership. The role will focus primarily on geopolitical and policy research and writing, but will also have the opportunity to participate in projects focused on external affairs and firm strategy. This role will report to the Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the BII. In this capacity, the vice president will have the opportunity to contribute to executive-level decision-making across a range of areas, furthering BlackRock's mission to help more and more people experience financial wellbeing.

What will you be doing?

The vice president will partner with the Chief of Staff to create executive-level presentations and talking points for the Chairman of BII to use with internal audiences (e.g., Board, Global Executive Committee), clients and other external audiences (e.g., media, conferences). The vice president will be a key contributor to the BII geopolitical risk initiative - drafting content and coordinating activities related to the BII Geopolitical Risk Dashboard - as well as to the External Affairs organization at BlackRock. This role will provide broad support to the office of the Chairman, including assessing incoming opportunities and business requests, preparing briefing memos and coordinating other administrative efforts.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree with strong record of academic achievement and 5-7 years of professional experience
  • A strong interest and background in geopolitics, public policy and corporate affairs
  • The ability to prepare detailed, high-quality briefing materials and persuasive and fact-based research, balancing multiple projects in collaboration with partners and senior leaders
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a dedication to excellence and high attention to detail
  • A strong work ethic and a high degree of professional integrity
