Overview
Join our global team of cyber security experts, protecting our business and developing exciting capabilities on the frontline of cyber defense. The Data Protection Program Lead (Vice President) will assist in leading the team that monitors and investigates user activity data and alerts to identify indicators of data compromise or loss. The individual will be required to work closely with other members of the Cyber Operations team to ensure the successful delivery of the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and User Behavioral Analytics (UBA) programs, and will drive these programs regionally.

Specifically, the Data Protection Program Lead will have the following key responsibilities:
  • Influence the objectives for the Cyber Security Data Protection Program.
  • Operationalize DLP and UBA technologies and build response procedures for these tools.
  • Partner with representatives from key business functions to understand their team's use of data in an effort analyze existing data-loss threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop a trusting relationship with key business functions to advance data security initiatives including data classification and proper data handling procedures.
  • Administer of the DLP and UBA tools which includes configuring policies, upgrading, and patching, etc.
  • Maintain awareness of latest trends and developments in insider threat detection and uses this knowledge to advance the program.
  • Assist with the identification of new insider threat detection techniques including content development for DLP and UBA tools and SIEM reports and dashboards.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts generated by DLP and UBA systems.
  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret system logs to identify abnormal user activity indicative of potentially malicious activity.
  • Respond to incidents timely to prevent additional loss and to obtain and preserve forensic evidence.
  • Collaborate with appropriate response partners (e.g. Legal, Privacy, HR, business leaders) to investigate and resolve incidents.
  • Analyze potential data-loss breaches to determine their impact and root cause.
  • Identify incident root cause and work with appropriate groups on remediation of control gaps/failure.
  • Present to regional leadership on a wide range of insider threat activities and related issues.
  • Develop and compile investigation reports and manage key indicators of program effectiveness.
  • Act as a mentor for more junior team members.
  • Ensure that all identified events are promptly validated and thoroughly investigated.

What the ideal candidate looks like:
  • 8+ years of experience in Cyber Threat Detection, or similar security technical experience is required.
  • University Degree. MBA, CISSP, CISM, GCHI, CEH, CCNA, or GIAC are preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to interact directly with individuals that do not have an IT background.
  • Hands-on experience investigating DLP alerts and working with technology and business units during such investigations.
  • Advanced knowledge of DLP concepts and tools including experience developing risk-aligned monitoring rules.
  • Advanced knowledge of UBA concepts including modeling user behavior and performing analysis on user behavior using SIEM tools or dedicated UBA technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards that govern data protection local privacy laws
  • Ability to exercise sound technical, interpersonal and organizational judgment while evaluating and solving complex problems.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to interact directly with individuals that do not have an IT background.
  • Experience with scripting a plus
  • Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
