The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will be accountable for managing ongoing business as usual processes such as Talent Assessment and Performance Management for assigned business lines. The HRBP will also assist leaders in implementing HR best practices in decision making and business planning. Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and other staff areas to roll out enterprise-wide HR policies and programs.

This position may support one of the following business lines: Advice and Wealth Management Products, Advisor Business Development, Ameriprise Financial Group or Service and Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Help the HR Business Partner team in executing key cyclical HR processes, including goal and development planning, talent review and employee performance evaluation processes in the business. Create and maintain project plans, monitor results and deadline completion; take follow-up action and manage communications as appropriate.
  • Partner and consult with leaders to integrate HR best practices into their decision-making and business planning, provide implementation support and tools as needed. Areas of support include leadership effectiveness and training, talent development, organizational design, performance evaluation process, employee relations, compensation and recommending measures to evaluate and improve effectiveness.
  • Develop strong relationships with business leaders and gain an understanding of the area(s) supported. Partner with HR COEs and other staff areas to roll out enterprise-wide HR policies and programs, offering input and consultation to tailor appropriate communications.
  • Support the HR data / reporting needs of the team, using computer applications such as Excel, Human Resource Information Systems, and general database and reporting management knowledge. Evaluate business needs and communicate with the HR Reporting area, to ensure data helps to solve business challenges.
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partner team in developing HR strategies and solutions to business issues. Assist in the research, planning and analysis phases of creating solutions to complex problems as well as anticipating HR needs within business lines.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders to coordinate recruitment and selection process. Assist business leaders in retaining top talent, improving individual performance, and efficiently developing talent within the organization.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and confidence in communicating to all levels across the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate information from many perspectives and synthesize into meaningful recommendations and solutions
  • Project management and tactical implementation skills
  • Exceptional relationship building skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous HR experience
  • Experience with Workday
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certifications
