1.1 Role Summary

Our Investment team screens investment opportunities, executes M&A transactions, and manages the investment portfolio for M&B in its ambition to invest significant funds to build up and manage a new business pillar.

We are looking for a highly self-motivated, independent, and results-driven Investment Analyst/Associate (f/m/d) with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our Investment team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting research activities, meeting external and internal stakeholders, conducting market and company assessments, and supporting the buildup of our new investment portfolio.

1.2 Your responsibilities
  • Independently perform top-down as well as bottom-up investment research on high conviction public equity or private equity investments
  • Establish financial models and conduct valuation of potential target companies
  • Develop and present investment recommendations to senior management
  • Preparation of market and competitive analyses as well as industry screenings for the identification of potential targets
  • Build sector expertise in target industries
  • Provide support in the origination of new portfolio leads
  • Support in managing ad-hoc inbound requests from M&B Management team and invested companies
  • Close cooperation and dialogue with internal stakeholders (Controlling, Treasury, Supervisory and Executive Board etc.) and external stakeholders (invested companies)

1.3 Your profile and qualifications
  • Ideally a degree in finance, accounting, engineering or other relevant field
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in private equity, investment banking, asset management, management consulting, or corporate development of an industrial company.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and conceptual capabilities, willingness and capability to go beyond the obvious as well as ability to think ahead and catch problems before they arise
  • Very good MS Office skills (especially Excel). Proficiency in Bloomberg would be a plus.
  • High level of interpersonal skills in an international environment and the ability to work in a team and take responsibility for own work results
  • Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to present complex issues concisely, both verbally and in writing. Communication skills in another European language would be a plus
  • Planning and organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage your workload
