The Role: The individual in this role will be following trading activity in the physical wheat market Australian and destination markets, assessing those markets based on physical bids, offers and traded information and in line with S&P Global Commodities Insights published methodology; writing a commentary and assessment rationale explaining the trends driving prices and the reason why prices have been assessed the way they have; and writing news stories during the course of market coverage.

The Location: Singapore

T he Team: The Asia Agriculture team consists of grains , oilseeds, sugar and biofue l s editors. You will form part of a team spanning the globe, liaising and collaborating closely with colleagues in Singapore and other team members based in India, London and USA .

Responsibilities:
  • Gathers information in the physical wheat Australian and destination markets , produces price assessments, writes commentary and market analysis
  • Follows price trends and reports on those trends at end of day or throughout the trading day as necessary
  • Conduct analysis; contribute to content development activities and thought leadership pieces
  • P resenting at conferences , undertaking webinars and podcasts
  • Diligently maintains our pricing and transactions databases
  • Develops, expands and maintains sources and contacts
What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum of 2 - 5 years of market reporting or similar analytical role in grains markets
  • Strong numeracy skills and the ability to apply basic math functions in Excel
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities, internally and externally
  • Strong interest in wheat, corn, barley and other agricultural commodities
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, global, multi-cultural environment
