Position Description:

US Global Wealth Management (US GWM) Business Strategy & Analytics oversees management reporting, financial budgeting and technology, data and analytical project prioritization for US wealth management distribution at PIMCO. Our mission in Business Strategy & Analytics is to serve as a trusted source of insight, working hand-in-hand with our partners to help leaders make the best decisions about where to invest their time, energy and resources. Project management is key to our success in executing on this mission.

We are seeking an exceptional Project Associate to contribute to the team and help drive business results by taking ownership of, contributing to and helping to oversee a variety of high-impact projects for the US GWM department. This is a great opportunity to make an immediate and significant impact on our department's short-term and long-term initiatives, and to work across areas to drive results.

The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be to work as a project manager on business-critical business, analytics, and technology projects through stakeholder engagement, planning, communications, dependency and risk management. The candidate individual will contribute to the team's senior stakeholder communications.

The successful candidate will have the ability to manage change and competing priorities effectively and independently. She/he should possess excellent prioritization skills and have ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast paced environment globally with minimal supervision as well as within a team environment. Ideally, the candidate would have existing experience in business analysis and project management.

Role Responsibility
Essential functions, responsibilities & duties include:
  • Work independently to drive projects and track outcomes; provide project support, including communications, reporting, scheduling; assist with the creation of executive reporting materials.
  • Contribute and maintain project management best practices, tools and templates to drive continuous improvement.
  • Grow collective Project Management knowledge-base.
  • Support the project intake process and the set-up of projects in the Business, Analytics, and Technology backlogs in SmartSheet
  • Develop working understanding of US GWM business model to inform project approach and prioritization.
  • Develop strong working relationship with US GWM's partner departments (e.g., Technology, Marketing, Finance, HR, etc.).


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management and reporting/analysis, preferably as Business Analyst or Project Management role with knowledge of project life cycle and/or business process change management.
  • Strong project management skills: ability to identify and manage dependencies, anticipate risks, raise and resolve issues timely.
  • Strong experience of project management tools and techniques including Agile (e.g. SmartSheet, Jira/Confluence/Wiki). Proficient MS Office tools.
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • High level of personal initiative and drive.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and adept ability to navigate organizational structure.
  • Consulting and Asset Management experience preferred.
