Who we're looking for
We are looking for a dynamic individual with experience in private assets, especially in fund development, project management or business development.
The person hired will have a strong work ethic with a collaborative approach to working with many people across different businesses. They will need to be well organised and have a problem-solving type approach to the work. There will be high levels of responsibility, multi-tasking and often pressure to deliver in tight timeframes. Good communication skills are essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain considerable experience of all types of private assets, the investment vehicles in which they are 'wrapped' and the process of building and maintaining relationships with all types of investors on a global basis as the team develops new funds/products to bring to market, prepares marketing materials, coordinates sales campaigns and ultimately on-boards and services investors when they become clients.

The base
We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.
The team
The Schroders Capital Structuring team has responsibility for the development of new funds and structuring solutions across private assets. We work closely with the Legal team, Operations, Sales teams as well Product teams from the other investment areas.
We manage new funds from inception, through to launch and the ongoing management and coordination of a fund during fundraising. It requires a versatile skillset which means the work is highly engaging and varied.
The team is primarily based in London but works closely with teams based in other countries.
What you'll do
• Responsible for leading the development of new investment funds and business development initiatives. This includes project management and coordination.
• Prepare new business cases with Investment teams
• Working closely with teams across different business areas to manage input from multiple parts of the business for the launch of new funds, including to obtain internal approvals from Legal, Risk, Finance, Tax and other teams
• Drafting of offering materials
• Working with Sales and Distribution to ensure fundraising success for new products, including preparing a marketing campaign and dealing with client enquiries, in some cases direct with the client
• Production of new marketing materials used in the Sales process
• Responding to RFPs
• Work closely with Investment and other teams for the ongoing management of funds after launch
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
• Previous experience in private assets or investment fund development
• Good understanding of Legal and Operational matters relevant to investment funds
• Good quality university degree and ideally some form of post graduate qualification such as RICS, CFA, MSc
• Good verbal communication skills and ability to form good working relationships internally with colleagues in relevant teams as well as with third-party service providers and investors
• Excellent written skills for client communication and drafting of marketing materials
• Sound financial understanding and at least basic modelling skills
