Who we're looking for
This is the first step towards a management position, We're looking for someone who can do their day job and assist the team manager with the day to day running of the team.

Your day job will be to produce our official reports for a number of regions. You'll have a keen eye (and enough knowledge of annual and interim statutory reporting) to spot any problems, and resolve them.

We need someone who can help develop team members and take responsibility for ensuring the work gets completed and to a high standard. It's a chance to work on lots of projects, with lots of teams, and with several countries. Moreover, you'll be someone the team can rely on when the manager is not around.

The base
You'll be based at our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. It's home to our EMEA Operations and Technology Operations hub.

It has the same high standards and international reputation as our HQ in the City of London, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus (and no commute on the Tube) means life will feel a little different.

The team
As a member of the Statutory Reporting Team you will provide oversight of the official report and accounts production across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The team forms part of the wider Fund Accounting function.

What you'll do
• Take a lead role in the day to day running of the team, helping individual members to achieve a broad range of operational objectives
• Technical and regulatory compliance review of financial statements and liaison with third party administrators
• Interpret reporting disclosures and drive adherence to prevailing regulatory requirements
• Engagement within the audit process, including co-ordination and timely resolution of audit queries
• Keeping abreast of industry and technical developments including analysis and application of regulatory updates e.g. IA SORP changes
• Assist the team manager to ensure controls are adhered to and exceptions are escalated in a timely manner
• Set an example within the team for others to follow
• Coach and support colleagues within the team to promote development and enhance individuals skillsets
• Make the team more efficient by spotting weaknesses in our process, suggesting and implementing solutions
• Contribute to the delivery of management information and key performance indicators to senior management
• Engage with key stakeholders at varying levels across the business, building strong relationships and delivering on key deliverables
• Take a leading role in the deliver of statutory reporting projects

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
• Qualified/part qualified accountant or qualified by experience
• Experience working within a financial reporting function.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks across EMEA (UK/Lux/US GAAP)
• Good with Microsoft applications, including Excel
• Understanding of fund operations and the investment management industry
