JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a candidate for a Senior Software Engineer who can work closely with other members of IT including other developers, business analysts, and QA engineers to design, develop, test, implement, and support solutions to meet business requirements. Come join us if you are a strong hands-on software engineer with excellent analytical skills and financial data domain expertise who can contribute to a hybrid role as a developer and analyst whenever needed. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver robust end-to-end data solutions for improving the investment workflow with modern technology
- Interact with business professionals at all levels of the organization in a dual capacity of developer and analyst to proactively identify opportunities for new and improved systems to enhance the investment data process
- Provide hands-on implementation of process improvements involving internal and external data pipeline, investment process efficiency, and simplifying investor workflow
- Understand key business challenges or opportunities and be able to originate ideas on how systems can help in areas such as investment data quality, and enterprise data governance
- Manage and coordinate efforts across teams consisting of business users, developers, analysts, and QA to ensure smooth delivery of critical system functionalities
- Demonstrated experience as a software developer or system analyst supporting complex, data intensive application development life cycles are required
- Proficient in at least one the follow computer languages: JavaScript, Python, Java, SQL, Scala
- Adequate understanding of system design and software development principles and methodologies
- Prior experience in typical data management life cycle in real-world business contexts
- Proven track record of modernizing legacy applications and related workflow
- Experience in financial data (in particular, reference data or pricing) domain, is preferred
- Experience with Amazon Web Services is a strong plus
- Experience and knowledge in modern data pipeline stacks, e.g., AWS Glue, Airflow, Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, is highly desired
- Comfortable with test driven development, continuous integration, metadata driven software, and agile development methodologies
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Keen intellect and judgment
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, mathematics, finance, engineering, or related field
