Junior Software Analyst

Support the long/short and long-only Technology Equity products as part of the firm's highly regarded Technology Research team, with exclusive focus on supporting senior portfolio analyst covering enterprise software. Responsibilities include idea generation, financial modeling, due diligence and valuation analysis within framework of Seligman's investment discipline. Demonstrated ability to short a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support research and development of investment, research the industry and specific companies through customer due diligence, channel checks, earnings calls, company visits, industry conferences and sell-side events.
• Support team leads on mis-priced securities and the key catalysts that will drive stock movement toward the target price.
• Structure trades appropriately to maximize reward/risk.
• Conduct valuation analysis on sector companies to arrive at price targets on existing holdings and price discrepancies on prospective holdings.
• Accurately assess market expectations by identifying consensus views on stocks and industry.

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a dedicated Analyst covering Technology specifically as a sell side analyst for a large, reputable firm, or as a buy side analyst for a large, institutional asset manager.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Ability/desire to be part of a team and work within a collegiate, collaborative environment.
• Deep understanding of financial statements.
• Ability to create and maintain detailed financial models.

Preferred Qualifications

• Progress towards CFA.
• Some experience covering Technology for a long/short asset manager.
