Position Description:

The Payroll Specialist is part of the HR Total Rewards team and has responsibility for payroll processing in the Americas, primarily in the U.S. and Canada. Reporting to the VP, Global Payroll Manager, the position will be responsible for supporting the payroll team in completing timely and accurate multi-state, semi-monthly payrolls and year-end payroll processing. This role requires knowledge of human resources and payroll systems and practices.

Primary responsibilities/essential functions (including the following, other duties may be assigned)

•Support the timely and accurate payroll processing of multi-state US and Canada payrolls on a biweekly basis and provide backup coverage on monthly international payrolls in other regions as needed.
•Responsible for system reporting and reconciliations, including payroll funding, accounting reporting obligations, internal and external reporting, year-end W-2/T4 reporting.
•Perform regular data and system audits to ensure data integrity.
•Create and modify Workday Payroll reports and support integrations.
•Provide support on expatriate payroll processing and shadow payroll reporting.
•Work closely with payroll team and vendors in identifying need for enhanced services, system revisions, formulating system requirements and testing.
•Partner with cross-functional departments (HR, Accounting, Finance, IT, etc.) to identify and implement process improvements to drive excellence and eliminate risk.
•Respond to payroll inquiries from management, employees and third parties.
•Support Payroll Manager on internal and external audit requests.
•Stay current on payroll regulations and best practices.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications:
•Five or more years of related HR and international payroll experience. Experience with U.S. and Canada payrolls required.
•Experience with Workday Payroll and ADP Streamline preferred, including exposure to system implementations and conversions.
•Self-starter with demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail and motivation to recommend process improvements.
•Team player who likes to be challenged with an evolving environment, which requires being agile and flexible in reprioritizing daily operational needs
•High quality written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally and globally in a growing and ever-changing environment.
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLookUp).
•Proven ability to provide and work with confidential information, always maintaining discretion and professionalism.
•Working knowledge of payroll best practices and federal and state regulations.
•Strong interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate and problem solve.
•Experience with expatriate and partnership payroll administration a plus.

Education and Certificates:
•Bachelor's degree preferred
•Certified Payroll Professional or similar HR designation a plus
