About the role

A Full Time, permanent position, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, the Chief Financial Officer serves as a strategic business partner to the CEO, executive team, and the Board of Directors. The CFO is overseeing the finance and accounting functions, championing business growth, and building the business for scale.

To be successful in this role, you must have finance and accounting experience, be creative with an entrepreneurial flair, and have a successful track record of building high-growth start-ups. Having a focus on publicly-listed technology startups with worldwide operations is a major plus.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the organization;
  • Execute on core business strategies and develop transformative new approaches for growth;
  • Support capital raises with the group and individual presentations featuring clear visual, written, and verbal information around performance and financial metrics;
  • Engage and support key stakeholders across the organization: collaborate closely with executives on the strategic vision, engage key stakeholders including our board and investors; align strategy and execution with Sales and Operations departments;
  • Deliver financial reporting both internally and externally;
  • Oversee subsidiaries in Canada, Singapore, and the United States.

Requirements
  • Experience: At least 7 years of experience in finance is required;
  • Education: Degree or diploma in finance or equivalent work experience;
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English;
  • Self-driven, resourceful with five-star interpersonal skills;
  • Experience as a public company finance executive with a progressive career history;
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS;
  • Ability to interface, present and communicate succinctly with capital market partners, such as investment bankers;
  • Must have delivered a PCAOB compliant audit;
  • Working knowledge of tax and international tax issues;
  • Expert knowledge of cash flow, forecasting, and cash management;
  • Experience in Mergers and Acquisitions & Capital markets;
  • Passion for technology and growing growth-stage public companies;
  • Bonus if you have international experience in Asian markets;
  • CPA, MBA, CFA designations are considered a bonus;
  • Preference will be given to candidates with public practice experience.
