The Client Service Management (CSM) team is a part of the Client Group at Wellington Management and contributes to the firm's mission by delivering first class client service across the full breadth of business channels and markets. The Client Analyst will work closely with Client Service Managers in managing overall service delivery and driving the resolution of client service queries, leveraging and coordinating with other line functions within the firm as appropriate so as to deliver the agreed upon servicing requirements of each of our clients.
This role will be based in Hong Kong and will primarily focus on servicing of our funds and distribution clients across Asia ex Japan.

The Client Analyst should have a minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in the financial services industry, with a sound foundation of investment and capital markets knowledge. Previous or direct experience supporting distribution/intermediary client relationships is viewed positively.

Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the role include:
- Working closely with the Client Service Managers on pre-onboarding qualification of prospective clients/distributors and know-your-distributor (KYD) reviews
- Being involved in internal discussions and negotiations regarding client service requirements, including operational and reporting items, prior to acceptance and documentation with each client/prospect
- Participating in the client onboarding and account opening process including AML/KYC checks
- Assist with mandate/client changes/maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures
- Serving as a one-stop contact for clients on daily enquiries. Maintaining strong relationships with client contacts and participating in external meetings as appropriate
- Participating in and contributing to fund and distribution-related projects, working groups and committees
- Staying attuned to industry developments and best practices; evaluating the firm's client service capabilities/gaps and related risks driven by client requirements and making recommendations to internal stakeholders for process and workflow improvements
- Host operational meetings with clients
- Become involved in special projects
- Coach and mentor more junior team members
- Collaboration - Work in active partnership with others in the Client Platform, the Investment Platform and the Infrastructure Platform teams (both locally and globally) to efficiently fulfill client requests and maintain high servicing standards
- Content - Demonstrate a sound knowledge of investment markets, Wellington Management's investment strategies and fund offerings, particularly those in which clients are invested, plus an in-depth knowledge of local regulations and client servicing procedures, i.e. "how to get things done" for clients
- Stewardship - Work with CSMs to effectively balance the needs of each client with the capabilities and resources of Wellington Management
- Execution - Knowledge of and accurate implementation of our internal processes and risk controls
The Client Analyst should have a minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in the financial services industry, with a sound foundation of investment and capital markets knowledge. Previous or direct experience supporting distribution/intermediary client relationships is viewed positively.
In addition, the candidate should possess the following:
- Exceptional project management/organizational skills with a strong detail-orientation, including the ability to follow through, multi-task, be consistently responsive, and manage changing priorities while meeting often strict deadlines
- Sound business judgement, problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills and the ability to express oneself in both individual and group settings are a must
- Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin (Traditional and Simplified) is required, additional Asian languages will be beneficial
- Knowledge of funds and transfer agency operations, as well as working knowledge of KYD/KYC and AML processes will be beneficial
- Experience with the China QDLP market and/or the Taiwan Master Agent process would also be helpful
- Positive and proactive attitude, flexibility, and a sense of humor
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals across our client base and global offices
- A college degree is required and a CFA/CAIA (or progress towards these qualifications) is viewed favorably
