Senior Advisor to the Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer

The NYS Teachers’ Retirement System is currently seeking a team-oriented, highly motivated, analytically-driven senior professional to serve as the Senior Advisor to the Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer (SA—EDCIO). 

The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Executive Team on behalf of the Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer, overseeing strategic initiatives from development through successful execution. The successful candidate will keep the Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer apprised of regulatory, public policy, global initiatives, and corporate governance through detailed research, strategic planning, and steadfast communication. The SA-EDCIO will conduct special projects across a wide range of topics; leveraging internal and external resources to provide timely and accurate information, analysis, and recommendations to the Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer. Additional responsibilities include representing the Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer at high-level meetings and functions, as well as other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an executive or senior management role.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Juris Doctor or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, and experience in investments, corporate governance, pension fund administration and or public policy.
