The Financing team, part of the Corporate Finance Department, is responsible for the development and implementation of Galp’s financing strategy, optimizing capital structure, funding sources & cost of debt, while supporting the Business Units to develop and fund their investments.

 

 

 

What you’ll do

  • Negotiate debt transactions, across markets (capital markets, commercial banks, multilaterals) and across products (ie, corporate bonds, loans, project finance, asset-backed finance, securitisations);
  • Assist the Business Units in structuring investments and defining funding structures;
  • Assess alternative sources of funding taking and prepare rating processes, taking into account the transition path of the company;
  • Prepare financial models and information packages for restructurings, ratings and capital raisings;
  • Negotiate financing agreements, in liaison with the Legal Team;
  • Participate in group-wide strategic projects impacting the portfolio and the capital structure of the Group;
  • Throughout, liaise internally, with business units, senior management and other corporate areas, and externally, with advisors, partners, banks, investors, rating agencies and other entities, as required, being responsible for the end-to-end process.

 

 

What you’ll need

  • Highly motivated individuals with outstanding academic credentials and professional accomplishments;
  • Understanding of and a strong interest in corporate finance concepts and willingness to quickly learn and disseminate detailed topical knowledge;
  • At least 2 years of experience in an analytical role, with exposure to financial modeling;
  • Previous experience in capital markets transactions and ESG Framework implementation (preferential);
  • Financial expertise, commercial acumen, market understanding and negotiation skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability and confidence to connect well with businesses partners, advisors and senior stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Strong English language communication skills, oral and written;
  • Passionate and ambitious self-starter, taking ownership of projects, with a strong drive for excellence;
  • Think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business;
  • Sharp communications skills, in particular to summarize complex transactions to senior management;
  • Ability to handle different projects simultaneously and delivering under tight deadlines;
  • Structured and analytical thinker, with excellent attention to detail;
  • Team player, resilient and with strong business and personal ethics.
