As a Barclays Leveraged Finance Credit Officer this is exciting opportunity as you take ownership of providing support for the end to end credit approval process for new, complex and highly structured leveraged finance transactions. You will independently analyse due diligence, providing support in preparing the credit memo and making a recommendation to a senior credit officer or senior committee within acceptable credit and regulatory risk parameters.
Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity - helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.
What will you be doing?
• Providing sound and time critical feedback to key stakeholders on proposed financing structures and an effective challenge when appropriate
• Supporting in managing a portfolio of clients, including presenting in senior quarterly review committee, making a sound recommendation on ad hoc requests & ongoing regulatory ratings
• Independently sanctioning authority which enables you to approve holds in high risk transactions. Where the authority level is not of the required level the role requires recommendations to be made to the relevant sanction level
• Using your knowledge of the evolving leverage finance regulatory guidelines to understand how it applies to new transactions & providing appropriate guidance to our key stakeholders
• Applying your knowledge of the specialist leverage industry and the processes involved (distribution/flex/liquidity/private equity investors)
• Maintaining data integrity of appropriate Credit Risk systems and ensure they reflect the approved sanction
• Engaging with Investment Banking Division, Legal, and Leveraged Finance, to structure satisfactory credit terms in secured lending and trading documentation
What we're looking for?
• Excellent credit skills and experience in leveraged finance, specifically taking responsibility for supporting the leverage finance transaction process
• Self-motivation and drive to work under tight deadlines
• Advanced analytical and technical skills balancing attention to detail and big picture decision making
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build partnerships with all colleagues
Skills that will help you in the role:
• CFA qualified desirable
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience
Where will you be working?
In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
