Overview:

This role is based in Boston and has a specific remit to help grow our business with US Offshore clients who are mainly based in cities across the US such as New York, Miami, San Diego and San Francisco. Travel to these regions is required to help the local sales teams to grow their client base and key partnerships.

The Portfolio Advisor is able to build effective internal working relationships with team members in a various geographic locations and departments (product specialists, sales and affiliates). The Advisory team within Natixis Investment Managers Solutions (NIMS) is global with members in London, Paris and Singapore. Being self-motivated and able to work independently on projects is crucial.

The successful candidate will work closely with a team of Quantitative Analysts, whose job is to assist them in the production of analysis. This individual is responsible for assisting in the training and development of the Analysts and others, should the team continue to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Present Natixis products and provide comprehensive portfolio analysis of client portfolios, present these findings to the Client and if requested, work with the Client to help implement solutions
  • Conduct analysis using in-house software
  • Identify imbalances, gaps, inefficiencies and hidden risks in client portfolios and provide ideas, options and steps towards a resolution
  • Assist the sales teams and affiliated asset managers in positioning their funds with clients
  • Gather market intelligence such as quantitative and qualitative competitor analysis and identify market and product trends to formulate topical content
  • Research new investment solutions & product ideas
  • Prepare and deliver analysis and customized portfolio recommendations for client meetings, periodic sales training and other key events.
  • Develop training modules and collateral materials to assist with educating sales personnel on various tenets of portfolio strategy and construction.
  • Develop and direct the use of various systems and analytical tools used by the team. (e.g. proprietary optimizers, Morningstar and Bloomberg)
  • Field data requests from a variety of constituents to include; executive and senior management, sales and investment professionals, prospective and existing clients.
  • Other ad hoc analyses and project work as requested.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of asset management experience specifically in quantitative analytics and portfolio construction
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, CFA preferable
  • FINRA series 7 & 63 licenses required, or acquired within 90 days of hire
  • Strong command of investing, economics and finance
  • Ability to understand and communicate sophisticated portfolio construction concepts to a multi-cultural and global audience with a diverse range of technical prowess
  • Deep understanding of asset allocation, risk management and capital markets theory
  • Proficient with analytical software packages including Excel, MPI Stylus, Bloomberg, Morningstar and risk modeling applications
  • Proactive, energetic, client-focused individual with the ability to motivate others.
  • Foreign languages helpful, bi-lingual in English and Spanish, preferred
  • Highly collaborative
