Role & Responsibilities
  • Key deliverables will include managing research projects to identify preferred fund managers within specific asset classes and sub asset classes.
  • The role will require an individual who is confident in running manager research projects and is able to produce detailed manager research.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to run manager research projects across a wide variety of asset classes including but not limited to equity, fixed income and alternatives such as property and infrastructure.
  • You will use a combination of quantitative and qualitative research to filter the manager universe to identify those with the preferred characteristics for inclusion in our funds and portfolios.
  • You will be expected to prepare for manager meetings using desk based research to identify key focus areas.
  • Create the agenda for the manager meetings and to chair the meetings.
  • The candidate will be expected to create notes and reports combining their desk based research and their findings from the manager meetings.
  • Present back your findings and to make proposals of managers or blends of managers to suit the firms funds and portfolios.

Background & Experience
  • Experience in manager selection is a necessity.
  • Ideally you will have 2-3 years' relevant experience in a manager selection role.
  • You should have experience in researching funds across a wide range of asset classes including but not limited to equity, fixed income and alternatives such as property and infrastructure managers.
  • Ideally you will experience in researching both open ended and closed ended structures (such as REITs and Investment Trusts) but this is not a pre-requisite.
  • The successful candidate should be comfortable undertaking both qualitative and quantitative research projects.
  • You will have a highly analytical background, strong verbal, written and presentation-based communication skills.
  • The candidate is expected to have an undergraduate degree with a strong record of academic achievement and ideally studying towards the CFA although this is not a pre-requisite.
