Position Description:

The Tax Manager will be responsible for domestic and foreign tax compliance, reporting, and advisory across a broad range of topics. This position is very hands-on and the qualified candidate should be highly motivated to learn new concepts, possess a willingness to work in a team environment, have the skills to research tax topics and the ability to communicate with senior management. The position will offer the opportunity to progress the candidate's career in a highly dynamic organization.

Essential responsibilities: (including the following, other duties may be assigned)
  • Prepare and/or review annual tax return workpapers for partnerships
  • Provide a thorough review of federal and state returns as well as partner Schedules K-1
  • Manage U.S. reporting of foreign operations (5471, 8858, 8865, 5472 etc.)
  • Oversee of all tax aspects of various foreign entities
  • Coordinate with outside service provider by setting deadlines and expectations
  • Supervise withholding tax calculations and withholding exemptions
  • Review quarterly estimates and annual extensions
  • Prepare and/or review tax provisions for partnerships
  • Assist in tax reporting to the parent company
  • Maintain partner tax portal and respond to partner inquiries
  • Prepare and/or review IRC 704(b) capital and IRC 743(b)/734(b) adjustments
  • Document tax positions taken on returns to ensure the accuracy of any technical conclusions
  • Assist in federal and state income tax audits
  • Monitor deliverables on the tax calendar


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum five+ years of tax experience with a big four CPA firm
  • Solid foundation in partnership compliance and consulting
  • Exposure to U.S. reporting of foreign operations (CFC, foreign partnership, foreign disregarded)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to effectively problem solve and make decisions
  • Commitment to producing quality work and attention to detail to ensure work is delivered completely, accurately, and on time
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to flourish in a challenging, fast-paced professional work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, exceed expectations and resolve open issues
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, technical and non-technical)
  • Experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams to build relationships

The following skills are preferred but not essential requirements:
  • CPA license and/or MBT (Master in Business Taxation) degree
  • Experience in asset management industry taxation
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing concepts
  • Understanding of VAT/GST regime
  • Familiarity with SAP, CCH, RIA and BNA
