We put people first and demonstrate care and compassion for our community and each other. Because what we do matters - to us as valued professionals and to the millions of people and institutions who rely on us to help them build more secure and prosperous futures.

What you will be responsible for: The Investment Solutions Group (ISG) is responsible for investment thought leadership and client consulting projects across all channels and regions.
Thought leadership is generated within ISG by working with our investment teams globally to bring the best thinking from across the firm to our distribution teams and clients. ISG subject matter experts specialize in Capital Markets, Equities, Fixed Income, Multi Asset, Retirement and Sustainability issues and are responsible for publishing and communicating our thought leadership to distribution teams and directly to clients.
Consulting projects that are specific to clients can vary significantly and range from asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk decomposition/stress testing, benchmarking and custom research, to name a few. Projects typically involve research using data sets and tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, BARRA, etc., developing conclusions and recommendations and typically culminate in a series of client presentations of the results.
The Analyst will have a primary focus on fixed income and will work with senior members of the ISG to support both thought leadership and client consulting projects, as well as investment and distribution teams. The role offers a unique opportunity to broaden knowledge of fixed income markets through challenging technical work, exposure to the latest in MFS's investment thinking while also providing an opportunity to develop internal communication and client facing presentation skills.

Leverage problem solving techniques and critical thinking in order to draw conclusions and develop client-ready materials that showcase the firm's investment insights.
  • Act as primary analytical source for the team, including the analysis of industry trends and investment themes, staying abreast of client preferences and asset owner investment behavior by segment. Demonstrate a deep understanding of all relevant issues related to client investment decisions including governance, investment policy and implementation issues.
  • Responsible for the quarterly fixed income insights guide, including coordination with internal business partners to ensure that the guide is updated with timely and relevant content. Communicate issues, trends and new information to ISG leadership relative to workflow, operational or compliance issues that may arise.
  • Collect, analyze and maintain data from industry conferences, consultants, academia and third-party data sources. Proactively communicating relevant findings and identifying opportunities for consideration will be critical.
  • Assist other teams within the Investment Solutions Group and perform additional duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in mathematics, economics, finance or related field; progress towards CFA, MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 + years' financial services with experience in one or more of the following required: asset manager, OCIO, plan sponsor or investment consulting.
  • Demonstrate excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into simple and actionable messages.
