The Role:
The Senior Analyst / Deputy Fund Manager will join an expanding Global Equities Team, sitting within the broader Equities division of M&G. Responsible for a number of equity fund mandates, the team currently consists of six portfolio managers, four analysts, and two investment specialists. Encompassing varying investment styles and objectives, the team apply a collaborative and fundamental approach to the investment process. The Deputy Fund Manager will mainly support the M&G Global Listed Infrastructure Fund which launched in 2017, but given the team dynamic there is opportunity to contribute more broadly to the group.

The M&G Global Listed Infrastructure strategy manages more than £1.5bln ($2bln) in assets for a broad client base across Europe, the UK, Asia, and Latin America. The fund is one of the strategies managed by M&G's Global Equities Team, which itself manages more than £17bln in assets across a range of global and regional strategies for wholesale and institutional clients.

Key Accountabilities:

• Performing integrated financial and ESG analysis, directly contributing to the team and decision-making on the fund(s)
• Executing regulated fund management functions as and where required
• Ongoing monitoring of existing positions, assessment of investment opportunities
• Portfolio risk evaluation and ESG reporting and monitoring
• Internal/external representation of the fund, including client marketing and corporate meetings
• Interacting and collaborating with other teams within the equities division and M&G more broadly, such as:
  • The central analyst team
  • The stewardship and sustainability team
  • Other fund and asset management groups
  • Distribution and Marketing

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Significant and proven level of investment industry experience, which can include the buy- and/or sell-side with an equities focus
• Analytical capability incorporating creative, long-term thinking
• Broad knowledge of and/or experience in financial markets, including macroeconomics, other asset classes, geopolitical influences
• Strong communication skills and the ability to form and express well-considered opinions
• A willingness to contribute wherever required for the benefit of the clients, the team and the organisation
• Regulatory certification and CFA designation an advantage but not a strict requirement
• A collaborative attitude and approach
