LGPS Central Limited has been established to consolidate and manage the pension fund assets of nine Midland's based public funds.

We are looking for an experienced analyst to join our Investments Passive team based in Wolverhampton. The successful candidate will report to the Investment Director but work within the Passive Equities Team.

The Analyst will work closely with our Portfolio Managers and a number of other internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will hold a Relevant degree and/or professional qualification or experience of working in a financial environment, IMC gained and/or working towards CFA qualification or similar/or relevant investment experience would be a plus.

Role Purpose:

Based in the Midlands (ideally in Wolverhampton or alternatively in our Matlock office), the successful candidate will work closely with our Portfolio Managers and the Investment Director, Passive Equities.

Outcomes:
  • Assist the Portfolio Managers to implement the strategy and investment process of the Passive Equity funds ensuring compliance with the mandate.
  • Assist the Passive Equity team Portfolio Managers and Investment Director in meeting the investment targets of the LGPS Central Limited Passive Equity Funds.
  • Assisting with the preparation of regular Partner Fund reporting
  • Support the Portfolio Managers and Investment Director to provide assurance that the investments are managed within the parameters set out in the Prospectus and the IMA, and in accordance with the Company's policies.
  • Assist Portfolio Managers in analysing and reviewing corporate actions, cash balances, and updating Fund holdings
  • Monitoring cash and securities, and reconciling portfolio activity and custodian records
  • Review and attribution of fund performance
  • Promote LGPS Central within the investment community and Partner Funds.
  • Originate, evaluate and recommend new investment ideas to the Portfolio Managers and the Investment Director.
  • Assist in the design, build and launch of new passive equity investment products
  • When directed by the Investment Director, assist in the implementation and maintenance of new internally managed funds as they are created
  • Undertake research as requested by the Portfolio Managers or Investment Director.
  • Embrace a culture of high performing, collaborative, research based and responsible investing across LGPS Central Limited.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Competence:
  • Experience of investment/financial analysis preferably gained with an asset manager or other financial institution.
  • Middle Office experience from either an Asset Management or Investment Banking background.
  • Some understanding of Bloomberg AIM or other trading & middle office systems.
  • Understanding of financial markets and regulations
  • High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • First class interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills.
  • Able to build effective relationships across all levels of the company.
  • Highly organised and able to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities under significant time pressures.

Qualifications
  • Relevant degree and/or professional qualification or experience of working in a financial environment.
  • IMC gained and/or working towards CFA qualification or similar/or relevant investment experience would be a plus.
