Position Description:

PIMCO is seeking to hire an experienced Index-Linked Annuity associate to join the Financial Institutions Group (FIG), dedicated to covering insurance companies and banks.
This position will specifically help support and grow PIMCO's custom index business with annuity providers, through working in conjunction with FIG account managers, technology, Legal, and Marketing groups. A key focus will be onboarding new index partnerships as well as supporting the existing index business.

Key relationships

• PIMCO investment professionals including Account Managers and Product Strategists
• Various PIMCO departments including but not limited to Client Solutions & Analytics, Legal & Compliance, Marketing, Operations & Technology
• Key contacts at insurance companies, index calculation agents, and bank hedge providers

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of the Fixed Index Annuity (FIA) and Registered Index-Linked Annuity (RILA) industries, as well as each of PIMCO's custom indices offered in these products
• Understand roles of different market participants (e.g. insurance carrier, index provider, banks, etc.) and key industry trends
• Onboard new indices by coordinating across PIMCO, carriers, outside calculation agent, and bank hedge providers
• Coordinate with Operations & Technology on internal calculations and other processes that are essential to the business
• Work closely with Legal on executing licensing, hedging, and calculation agreements with counterparties
• Support continued business development and marketing efforts through competitive analysis, marketing materials, etc.

Position Requirements:

• An understanding of the index-linked annuity industry and the role that custom indices play in it
• Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and written communication skills
• Self-starter, ability to accomplish tasks without clear or defined steps
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of software applications in general
• Capital markets experience (fixed income, equities, quantitative, etc.)

Education

• Must possess a four-year college degree with a preferred major in Business/Finance, Economics, or Accounting
• Ideal candidates should have 1-3 years of experience in financial services, asset management, investment banking or annuities (e.g. FIA/RILA)
• Progress toward the CFA designation is a plus
