Where you'll fit in & what our team goals are...

This role sits within BMO GAM EMEA's Investment Support team, which is part of the wider Operations and IT team.

Investment Support take on many different administrative and analytical tasks, ranging from fund analysis to operational oversight. The focus of this role is to provide support to the wider Investment team managing equity mandates.

As part of the Equity Fund Manager's Assistants team, your workload would be aligned to a specific investment strategy to ensure a high level of understanding of the product, and, from the FMs' perspective; accountability and a key point of contact.

This is an initial 12 month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities

How you'll spend your time....

As part of the Equity FMA Team on this initial 12 month fixed term contract, you will provide assistance in the completion of daily, periodic and ad hoc tasks, broadly defined as:
  • Provision of daily cash, portfolio and other ad hoc reporting to assist fund managers in the investment decision making process. This will include using Factset and Bloomberg PORT to provide analysis and require an understanding of portfolio characteristics and attribution.
  • Corporate action decision support on behalf of Investment desk. Liaison with internal and external teams to facilitate.
  • Coordinate production of a fund manager meeting pack, including sourcing certain elements.
  • Provision of specific month end, quarterly and ad hoc data and analysis to support RFP and client reporting for the strategy.
  • Assist with production of periodic data across all equity strategies (shared responsibility).
  • Resolution of system data issues such as pricing amendments and stock queries.
  • On an exceptions basis, provide support and oversight on trade lifecycle issues, liaising with the investment team, centralised dealing desk and business application support team to ensure queries are raised, investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Prompt and proactive resolution of queries from external middle and back offices, eg. Custodian, fund accountant for example cash breaks.
  • Oversight and maintenance of the relationship with outsourced Middle and Back Office services at State Street to ensure a high level of service is received, escalation to resolve if standards are not met.
  • Completion of paperwork, monitoring through to settlement all IPOs, Placements and sub-underwriting obligations to tight deadlines.
  • Manage and monitor internal and regulatory reporting to ensure accuracy and delivery within agreed time frames.
  • Monthly compliance checks including stale price investigation and NAV reconciliation discrepancies, upon request.
  • Responsible for ensuring a high level of service to the Investment Team is maintained by the team. Maintenance of internal procedure documents and team tasklists to ensure changes in processes are accurately captured. Ensure adequate cross-training so that, in the event of absence, cover is seamless.


Required Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • ThinkFolio, Aladdin
  • Coding, including SQL & Python
  • Factset
  • Bloomberg / Bloomberg PORT
