Single Family Office
Job Title: Investment Professional, Public Markets
Role
The investment professional will help screen, evaluate, recommend, and monitor investments across public markets including cash, fixed income & credit, equities and hedge funds. The investment professional will report to the head of public markets.
Organization
The family office is based in Houston and manages a family portfolio and a private foundation. The family office invests across asset classes and is divided into (1) public, which includes cash, fixed income & credit, equities, hedge funds (equity long/short, credit, multi-strategy, global macro) and (2) private, which includes private equity and real estate. Collaborative style, small investment team of six investment professionals.
Job Responsibilities
- Screening for and analyzing potential investments
- Meeting with investment managers and participating in due diligence and market calls
- Preparing investment team and investment committee materials
- Presenting and discussing due diligence findings with the investment team and investment committee
- Monitoring existing investments and reviewing related reporting
- Maintaining and building internal models and relevant supporting software platforms
- Aiding in the monitoring of market/economic trends
Requirements
- 2-8 years of relevant experience such as: manager due diligence, equity research, portfolio management, corporate finance, accounting, investment banking
- Well-rounded resume with a strong desire to be in Houston
- Sound judgement and high ethical and professional standards
- Excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities
- Strong writing and presentation skills
- High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel
- Keen attention to detail
- Self-starter mentality
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, eVestment, Morningstar, Backstop is a plus
- CFA and/or CAIA are a plus
