Role Description

BNYM is seeking to hire a dynamic, self-motivated proven leader to drive Digital Product strategy and design in for the Asset Servicing business. BNYM Asset Servicing is a leading provider of Custody, Fund, Trustee, Data and Analytical Services.

The Digital Product Manager will utilize their deep understanding of eCommerce portals, Data Delivery channels such as API's and the Asset Servicing market, knowledge of client's needs and market dynamics to drive product development and position BNYM for accelerated growth.

As part of a product led organization, Digital Product Manager will drive the formulation, prioritization and execution of business priorities and product development. The Product Manager will partner with global and sometimes Enterprise teams to embed requirements into global product design and development and should be well versed in understanding and communicating the commercials, client experience and technical impacts across the product lifecycle.

The Product manager will need to lead, partner, and influence a wide range of stakeholders including technology, core services/ product, and client management to drive outcomes needed to deliver upon priorities. The product lead will be responsible for ensuring the product teams are positioned to discharge governance responsibilities including maintaining product legal and regulatory compliance and acceptable risk appetite.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Design product roadmaps across Asset Servicing, taking into account Enterprise goals
  • Collaborate with Enterprise partners to share common goals and prioritize product needs
  • Drive strategy, prioritization, and execution of product roadmaps
  • Participate in FinTech/ industry partner commercial discussions for the e-commerce platform
  • Partner with legal, billing, marketing and other partners to embed commercials into product development
  • Prepare and communicate business strategy and priorities to a broad audience, including executive management
  • Proactively focus on problem identification and problem solving
  • Manage Product Backlog and oversee product development sprints and release cycles
  • Work with User Experience and User Interface (UX/UI) resources to capture personas and persona journey maps, effectively translate experience strategy into effective User Interface and design
  • Develop marketing materials to effectively communicate product value and commercials within BNYM Sales and Client Relationship teams and also directly to clients
  • Help lead build vs. buy evaluations for specific product feature sets

Preferred Qualifications:

The desired candidate will have deep knowledge of Asset Servicing products, and Data management market dynamics and client needs. Through contacts in the industry have knowledge of the changes in client's needs, competitor's business, and product development.

Proven track record of presenting to and influencing senior leaders, whether internal or our client's executives, understanding their problems and designing solutions to meet those needs.

Experience of formulating business Strategy focused to deliver growth through a Product led organization.

Prior experience responsible for execution of business priorities, leading and aligning cross functional teams to deliver common outcomes.

  • Proven track record of Digital Product management (strategy through execution)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Client facing experience
  • Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions
  • Self-starter: ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and effective under pressure
  • Strong project management skills
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in Product Management, operations, client management preferred.
  • MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Product Leadership Certification preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
