Analyst/Associate - Private Equity

Ironwood Capital Partners (“IWCP”) is a private equity General Partner incorporated to manage dedicated country funds for Sri Lanka. IWCP is the first fund to successfully raise capital to invest in Sri Lanka and offers Sri Lankan firms access to much-needed capital for growth and expansion, as well as managerial support and access to regional networks. Portfolio companies include Abans Finance, Laundromat, Colombo Coffee Company, Barista Coffee Lanka, Caramel Pumpkin, Elizabeth Moir School, Sugar Restaurants, and FindMyFare.

POSITION: Analyst/Associate – Private Equity

IWCP is seeking to hire a highly motivated individual wanting to be part of a young, dynamic and entrepreneurial organization. He/she will have the opportunity to work closely with an experienced investment team alongside the CEO and senior management team of our portfolio companies. The role will entail working across several portfolio companies in supporting and monitoring the execution of key strategic initiatives such as new product launches, retail expansions, process re-engineering, and bolt-on acquisitions.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Analysis of investment opportunities including financial modeling, valuation, and return analysis
  • Conducting in-depth market research and commercial due diligence of investment opportunities
  • Preparing Term Sheets and IWCP Investment Committee (“IC”) memos to support investment decisions
  • Monitoring and supporting the execution of the 100-day plan and strategic projects in portfolio companies
  • Supporting the senior management team of portfolio companies by developing dashboards, conducting analysis and market research
  • Reporting to the Board of Directors and IWCP IC on progress made on key strategic initiatives and financial results of portfolio companies

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a top university 1-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, equity research, corporate banking, or management/strategy consulting with a leading firm
  • Good working knowledge of financial modeling, corporate finance, valuation methods, and accounting
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
