Position Description:

The Alternatives Account Associate will support the Alternatives Marketing Account Manager in the sales and servicing of PIMCO's alternative products. The Associate's primary responsibility is to act as an internal resource, responding to inquiries on PIMCO's alternatives products from home office research and business professionals.

The Associate will also serve as an in-house expert for US GWM external account managers and account associates and partner in the servicing of existing alts advisors, educating advisors and supporting new business initiatives.

Other responsibilities include meeting preparation, briefing memos, CRM queries, pipeline and business reporting; questionnaire responses and special projects. The successful Associate will be entrepreneurial and proactive about problem solving and enjoy working with data.

Key Relationships:
  • PIMCO investment professionals including: US GWM Strategic Accounts AMs, US GWM Alternative Specialists, US GWM Field and Desk, and Alternative Product Strategists
  • PIMCO Strategic Account Clients and Advisors
  • Senior Leaders and Compliance Professionals


Major Responsibilities:
  • Learn PIMCO's alternative products to be able to respond to client and prospect requests.
  • Have a client service mind-set and exhibit a strong sense of urgency when responding to internal and external requests.
  • Build strong relationships with internal partners, including the Product Strategy Group, Relationship Managers, Compliance and others to respond to requests.
  • Query, analyze and maintain business information reports for use in internal reporting.
  • Expertly use tools such as Excel spreadsheets, macros, query tools, CRM and external database for a variety of special products.
  • Contribute to the building of repeatable, consistent processes to generate confidence in analysis and ensure operational efficiency

  • Have a fundamental understanding of investment strategies combined with a strong desire to learn more.
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Have a strong talent for both analyzing and communicating data in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Use effective time management skills to maintain a commitment to quality and attention to detail; ensure that all work is completed accurately and on time
  • Foster a sense of teamwork, assisting others when needed/required
  • Flourish in a challenging, fast-paced, and professional environment with frequent shifts in priorities as business needs dictate


Position Requirements:

Education:
  • Must possess a four-year college degree with a preferred major in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Accounting. Progress toward the CFA or CAIA designation is a plus.
  • Candidate must obtain Series 7, 3 and 63 licenses.


Experience:
  • At least two years of finance-related experience preferred, ideally in the fixed income or alternatives markets. Ideal candidates are familiar with alternatives products.
