OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

The Senior Manager is responsible for the execution of client engagements and maintaining strong relationships with senior client personnel. The Senior Manager must have a solid understanding of their client's business and be able to demonstrate technical competence in their product group and industry. The Senior Manager ensures quality and satisfaction on engagements and must be able to clearly articulate the value drivers of our business. The Senior Manager is responsible for developing opportunities both at existing clients and new clients and is responsible for job economics and for ensuring the timely close and billing of projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in engagement sales opportunities with existing and new clients
  • Manages broad range of routine responsibilities on multiple client engagements related to client project management and business development activities
  • Effectively manages client relationships with senior personnel
  • Contributes to employee development by actively mentoring employees, creating development opportunities and initiating and conducting training
  • Discuss technical and industry trends in specific projects/ industries with key contacts/clients
  • Deliver specific product solutions to clients
  • Demonstrate expertise in specific technical areas and/ or industries
  • Assists Engagement D/MD in managing engagement risk
  • Participates in recruiting efforts to support Protiviti business objectives
  • Enhances Protiviti's market presence and exposure in order to develop opportunities with new clients
  • Assist with the development of Protiviti thought leadership white papers, FAQs and marketing materials with respect to GRC issues
  • Liaise with other offices globally to leverage off current contacts and to provide a considered and consistent approach to the market.

GENERAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
  • The development of proposals and bid materials for client advisory/ consulting engagements primarily within the R&C team
  • Management of the delivery of client engagements against Protiviti's standards for engagement management including:
    • Managing Protiviti and client staff
    • Project and programme planning and tracking
    • Development and quality assurance of engagement deliverables
    • Reporting and presenting to senior client and Protiviti staff of project deliverables, status and risk
  • Development of Protiviti propositions and thought leadership including white papers, FAQs and other marketing materials
  • Assistance with the development of engagement methodology and procedures some of which will be generic and others more specific, including aspects of FSA requirements and supervision, operational risk frameworks and assessments, governance issues including enterprise risk management and subject matter internal audit reviews
  • Marketing and enhancing Protiviti's profile in the Financial Services market through:
    • Excellent delivery and client management on engagements
    • Development of client opportunities and relationships within engagements
    • Maintaining client contacts made through the course of the candidates career
    • Identification of engagement opportunities
    • Promoting Protiviti's values and philosophies
  • Enhance technical and operational knowledge through coaching from team and industry specific training/ seminars/ forums. Ensure this knowledge is shared with team members.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Prior leadership experience in execution on client engagements and relationships with senior client personnel
  • Experience of developing relationships within the business community / prior business development experience
  • Self-starter and can operate independently as needed
  • Track record of employee development by actively mentoring employees, creating development opportunities, providing regular constructive feedback, and initiating and conducting training
  • Demonstrates strong technical competence in operational resilience and wider risk and compliance. Track record of working with FTSE organisations
  • Experience in the build, implementation and/or assurance of operational resilience frameworks and/or execution of these frameworks
  • Experience in the development, implementation and/or assurance of the methodologies/approaches for the identification of important business services, end to end mapping of the important business services, establishing impact tolerances and conducting resilience testing in line with draft regulatory expectations
  • Understanding of the basics of one or more of cyber, third-party, technology and business resilience
  • Demonstrates the ability to discuss technical and industry trends in specific disciplines/ industries
  • Ability to managing engagement risk (including monitoring of costs, managing project timescales and ensuring activities are kept to agreed scope as well as the quality of deliverables)
  • Organised, structured, highly motivated and able to motivate others - a leader
  • Recognised knowledge and experience of one or more segments of the Financial Services Market
  • A strong appreciation of the regulations and risks impacting those segments (see desired areas below)
  • Experience within Advisory Consulting firms, with a specialism in Risk and Compliance
  • Engagement quality and risk management skill set

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Prior experience in developing and delivering solution offerings / sales channels with the wider Leadership team
  • Supported in the development of digital use cases or design and implementation of digital tools to enhance operational resilience capabilities, reduce risks and costs and improve control
  • Exposure to some or many of the following:
    • SYSC and Senior Managers Regime, governance and the three-lines of defence governance model
    • ERM risk framework design and implementation
    • Risk and/or Compliance function design and operation
  • Experience delivering internal audit engagements

EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, 2:1 desirable and or relevant professional experience
  • Previous consultancy experience preferred or experience at Senior level at an FTSE organisation
  • 8+ years working in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, or related field, either in professional services or industry
  • A recognised FS industry qualification, i.e., Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, CFA, relevant IT/resilience qualification etc. an advantage
