The position

The Core Transactional Technology team is looking to hire a Project Manager to work on the Investment Book Of Record (IBOR) platform. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Project Management for the IBOR Program, a complex multi-year initiative central to the Firm's investment capabilities.

At Wellington, our Project Manager interacts with our business partners and are exposed to latest industry trends within the Asset Management business.

This is a hands on position that requires a high level of collaboration and interaction with our other technology partners across the department, and an ability to deliver in a fast-paced and evolving environment. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people at all levels of the organization. Excellent communication and delivery skills are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Member of the Program Leadership team responsible for the strategy, implementation of that strategy and management of risks, issues and resources to deliver on the program's objectives.
  • Defining, maintaining and manage a multi-year roadmap with expected budgets
  • Produce and communicate Program updates at various forums (e.g. Steering Committees, Senior Management, External teams, etc.)
  • Evolve the Team's use of Agile Methodologies (SAFE) and the tools to support the same
  • Manage issues and risks throughout the project by identifying, communicating, tracking and formulating mitigation strategies. Work with issue owners to clarify and resolve issues, defining target dates and dependencies.
  • Perform Scrum Master activities for a delivery track and follow the delivery to production
Qualifications
We seek the following qualifications:
  • College degree with preference towards graduate level degree, CFA and/or MBA and at least ten years of broad operational and management experience in technology department.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering a large complex project
  • Demonstrated experience for being change agent to evolve a team's capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; detail oriented and proactive
  • Outstanding "soft skills": oral and written communication, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, conflict resolution
  • Expertise in agile best practices and program management best practices
  • Absolute discretion and confidentiality required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where priorities change frequently and deadlines are often under significant time pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong business judgment with ability to impact change
  • A sense of humor is absolutely required
