About this role

Being a part of BlackRock means being a part of a community of experienced, ambitious people who are taking on some of the world's most complex financial challenges. And our founder-led culture has maintained its entrepreneurial feel - we work hard, we work fast, and we work with purpose.

BlackRock's Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) business is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and innovative alpha insights. Our team of 300+ multi-asset investment professionals constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels. Currently, MASS manages over $1 trillion in assets and has a strong presence in San Francisco, New York, London and throughout Asia Pacific.

We are looking to add Associates on both our Americas Endowments, Foundations & Healthcare team out of San Francisco and/or New York City as well as our Americas Pensions team out of New York City.

Team Overviews:

The Americas Endowments, Foundations & Healthcare team within the MASS business constructs and manages active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions using Blackrock and third-party managers across public and private markets. The team manages approximately $10 billion in client assets as of 30 September 2021 for Endowments, Foundations & Healthcare clients across the U.S.

The Americas Pensions team within the MASS business constructs and manages active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions using Blackrock and third-party managers across public and private markets. The team manages approximately $30 billion in client assets as of 30 September 2021 for Pension clients across the Americas.

Our investment decisions harness the collective insights of our 2,000+ investors on the ground in virtually every established investable market. In addition, our team incorporates sustainability as an integral part of how we invest, integrating ESG within our capital market assumptions and throughout our investment process.

Role Description, Responsibilities & Qualifications:

The team is looking for a motivated individual that will play a key role in our investment mandates by owning and supporting many of the client servicing elements involved in new and existing business. This person will also be encouraged to contribute to portfolio management, research and analysis, and find ways to improve efficiency and timeliness of deliverables. This is a great opportunity for a resourceful problem-solver to be part of a dynamic team and get exposure to multi-asset investing by working closely with Client CIOs, institutional account managers, and end clients.

  • Engage with internal teams throughout BlackRock to create and implement scaled Aladdin-based technology solutions to address investment and reporting challenges
  • Contribute to new product design, as well as the enhancement of existing product offerings and servicing
  • Participate in the broader MASS investment research ecosystem
  • Build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the full suite of solutions offered by BlackRock and third-party managers across public and private markets
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the broader themes, trends, and competitive landscape within the US institutional client universe
  • Develop and maintain strong partnership with the Institutional Client Business Group and the Global Consultant Relations teams who are primarily responsible for managing and developing BlackRock's client and consulting relationships
